Vasilis Mamalis

He was born in 1970. He obtained his Diploma (in Computer Engineering and Informatics) as well as his Ph.D. from the Polytechnic School of the University of Patras (Greece), in 1993 and 1998 respectively. He has worked for almost ten years (from 1994 to 2004 – in several projects and research programs) in Computer Technology Institute (C.T.I.) of Patras. He currently teaches (from 2004 till today) at the Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Athens, Dept. of Informatics, as an Associate Professor. He also teaches (from 2001 till today) in the Hellenic Open University, Dept. of Informatics, as an external partner. His research interests include information retrieval, document & knowledge management, parallel algorithms & architectures, distributed systems & databases, operating systems and mobile computing. He has about thirty six publications in international journals and conferences in the above mentioned research areas and he was also a referee in several international conferences.
